Call for Interns!

Viva Nicaragua! hopes to continue working with UNAN and international physical therapy students to teach community members how to make this affordable and useful equipment. We are looking for interns to work with UNAN students making simple and low-cost physical therapy equipment for children using basic materials including PVC pipe and tri-wall. This will be very useful for parents and therapists who cannot afford more expensive equipment to assist with the daily activities and therapy for their children.

Public Health Internships

Interns assist with health education, taking patient data, and HIV testing at a reproductive health fair in a rural community.

Public Health and pre-Med majors have the opportunity to work in health clinics alongside doctors, nurses, health professionals and other health educators. They learn not only about the healthcare system and primary health problems but also work directly with patients both in the clinic and in the communities.

- An inventory of tourist establishments for a small community dedicated to tourism.
- Someone to work with the local government to compile and organize historical documents
- Environmental studies and science majors to work with an organization working on watershed management.
- A sustainable development or agriculture major to work with small scale farmers on a food security project
- Engineers to work on a social/sustainable housing project
- Development and economics majors to work on micro-finance projects
- History, journalism, or development majors to compile the history of a small community dedicated to tourism and handicrafts.
- Public health and pre - med majors to work on health education and dental health campaigns.
