Intern Sam Weavers helped start a small shoe making business for 4 at risk youth in the community of Solidaridad. The group is currently selling about ten to fifteen pairs of shoes per week. The project has helped generate income, tought them new skills, provided them with a positive image in the community, and given them healthy alternatives. We hope that with future Viva Nicaragua! and intern participation we can increase production and bring more soci al and economic benefits to these young people.
